Puss in Boot (color) is a spoof horror movie poster about a cat that likes to lurk inside footwear.
Be afraid of the closet. Cats do seem to get into anything and everything, and I think they think it’s funny to lurk and surprise their humans.
Some people have told me that the fine print is the best part. It reads: “This film has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with any fables with similar titles. Honest. Based on the new original screenplay, ‘The Cat that Lurked in Shoes’ by Natmai Reilnaim.”
This is a hybrid illustration. The cat and boot were drawn traditionally in black and white with graphite pencil. The image was then brought into Photoshop, where I colorized it, drew the background, and added the text.
Each Puss in Boot (color) print is hand signed and hand numbered out of a run of 50. Once they are sold out, no more will be run.
The print comes mounted in a 8″ x 10″ archival mat with backing board. All of my prints are matted to standard frame sizes for ease of framing.
I cut my own mats. The mat colors may vary depending on what I have in stock but I always pick something that compliments the artwork. Generally for Puss in Boot (color) I use a brown or dark red color to compliment the background, and that’s what I would recommend. If you place an order and would like a specific mat color, send me a note and I will try to accommodate you. For Puss in Boot (color) I usually use a single mat. The print itself is about 6″ x 8″, which leaves an approximate 1″ border on the sides and bottom.
Prints are protected by a clear plastic archival bag that guards against moisture and minor scratches. I recommend leaving the print inside the bag until it is transferred to a frame.
