The Monster in the Closet is a spoof movie poster about a cat that likes to lurk in the closet. In a way, I suppose it’s really about all cats, since most of the ones I’ve known like to do that. I did this one as a follow up to The Monster Under the Bed and The Monster in the Box. Stand Back.
Some people have told me that the fine print is the best part. It reads: “May encourage cats to lurk in dark places and possibly develop the habit of jumping out unexpectedly. Based on the new original screenplay, ‘No, I Didn’t Chew Your Shoe’ by Nawtee Kitee.”
This is a digital illustration done in Photoshop.
The Monster in the Closet print is hand signed and hand numbered out of a run of 50. Once they are sold out, no more will be run.
The print comes mounted in a 8″ x 10″ archival mat with backing board. All of my prints are matted to standard frame sizes for ease of framing.
I cut my own mats. The mat colors may vary depending on what I have in stock but I always pick something that compliments the artwork. Generally for The Monster in the Closet I use dark blue, and that’s what I would recommend. If you place an order and would like a specific mat color, send me a note and I will try to accommodate you. For The Monster in the Closet I usually use a single mat. The print itself is about 6″ x 8″, which leaves an approximate 1″ border on the sides and bottom.
Prints are protected by a clear plastic archival bag that guards against moisture and minor scratches. I recommend leaving the print inside the bag until it is transferred to a frame.
