Catroy is a spoof science fiction movie poster about a well traveled cat. He was here. After all, if they can make fictitious movies about zombie cats or cat mummies or giant cats that demolish buildings, then why not this?
Some people have told me that the fine print is the best part. It reads: “Does anyone read the fine print? Probably not. We could say anything here. Based on some graffiti found under the subway and some kittens in a nearby alley. Directed by Kilroy. He was here.”
This is a digital illustration done in Photoshop.
Each Catroy print is hand signed and hand numbered out of a run of 50. Once they are sold out, no more will be run.
The print comes mounted in a 8″ x 10″ archival mat with backing board. All of my prints are matted to standard frame sizes for ease of framing.
I cut my own mats. The mat colors may vary depending on what I have in stock but I always pick something that compliments the artwork. Generally for Catroy I use a dark red or brick color to compliment the background, and that’s what I would recommend. If you place an order and would like a specific mat color, send me a note and I will try to accommodate you. For Catroy I usually use a single mat. The print itself is about 6″ x 8″, which leaves an approximate 1″ border on the sides and bottom.
Prints are protected by a clear plastic archival bag that guards against moisture and minor scratches. I recommend leaving the print inside the bag until it is transferred to a frame.
