Death Kittens 4

Death Kittens 4: Death Kittens vs. Radioactive Tiny Time Spiders is a spoof movie poster about our favorite deadly kittens.  Yes, they’re back.

To be honest I wasn’t sure if there was going to be a Death Kittens 4Death Kittens 3 didn’t seem to be quite as popular as the first two in the series.  I thought maybe it was time to end it.

Then I got this idea.  Apparently the kittens weren’t ready to quit yet.

So where did I come up with something crazy like radioactive tiny time spiders?  Well, it’s like this.  There used to be cold medicine that came in little capsules.  The capsules were filled with “tiny time pills”.  They looked like smaller versions of those round sugar sprinkles people use for baking.  Some were red.  Where am I going with this?  Bear with me.

When I was a kid my parents had a cabin up in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains.  There’s a lot of granite up there.  Like a lot of kids, probably, I thought big boulders were pretty cool.  Some of the boulders had little red bugs on them.  The bugs ran around frantically in little circles, going nowhere fast.  They were about the same size as the little red balls in the cold medicine capsules.  Later I found out that they were spider mites.

So I just combined the two things and came up with “tiny time spiders”.  When I was working on this image I threw in “radioactive”… well, why not?

So what’s with the clock?  Well, there are time spiders, for one.  And if you notice, it reads 4 o’clock.  I had to get a “4” in there somewhere.

By the way, the official title is simply Death Kittens 4.  That’s because I’ve learned that short titles are a good thing when I have to fill out art show paperwork.  If you want to call it Radioactive Tiny Time Spiders, though, I’ll know which one you mean.

Some people have told me that the fine print is the best part.  It reads: “What can I say?  They made another one.  As if deadly kittens aren’t a dumb enough idea, now they’re throwing in radioactive spiders.  Really.  This franchise is really hitting bottom.  Based on the slightly original screenplay (but completely changed around at the director’s whim), ‘My Cat Likes to Eat Bugs’ by Annan E. Muss.”
